After and during the process of MIA-ing

Okay. Hi. I am back. I am speaking to no one in particular. sorry for the very much ignored blog, to whoever is reading this.

So, during my missing in action days, there was the sports meet! I saw Samuel aka Fish Head (His head literally smells like a fish market, with all those aunties in flowery slip-ons and uncles with their black rubbery ‘aprons’ and irritating little girls in plaits who insist on following their mums to the market and of course, the dead, cold and very smelly fishes all raw and looking on at you with their unclosed eyes which can’t be closed) sitting right opposite us, his primary school classmates and we were reminiscing and entertaining each other with descriptive paragraphs on the smell of his head and about the many encounters we had with his head and its smell. The sports meet was actually quite fun towards the end what with us seeing all our teachers physically shooting out in the relay match and actually winning it. so, yeah, that’s about it.

Then, onto debates. We got into the finals of JGs and we lost to RI. Okay, not much comments here. Anyway, TRJ won best speaker as expected, Nettie wasn’t ranked due to her not speaking in all three prelims round but we heard that she could haved ranked second. And EeWei and EeHsien were both ranked 12th and 13th if  I am not wrong. Then, my competitions came and went. We broke into quarters as third place and we got beaten by MGS in the semi-finals although we really should have won. I mean it but i shan’t elaborate, it was rather close anyway although we really should have won. Anyway, after we got lost, we went to take photos, listen to the finals, get our prizes, get ranked, listened to the results and and zoomed off to change and eat Earthquake at Swensens and took neoprints at Cineleisure (and actually looked at things while the others went to the toilet, whereby HuiQi and I and Michelle were discussing a Romeo and Juliet necklace at a ridiculously high price, to which HuiQi said that if her future boyfriend ever bought her that, she would have told him, ‘Why did you buy me this? You are so dumb. You are dumb and you are dumped.’), and ate dinner at Burger King and watched a play. What a agenda…

Anyway, SCGS won eventually and I can’t really tell you about the debate as I fell asleep during the finals debate. Joyan went and received our certificate of participation in the quarters and I was ranked sixth best speaker of the tournament as I was the only one speaking in all three prelims round and HuiQi totally predicted that I will be sixth and she suessed it. Damn. Anyway, the whole outing later was really fun and the play was good too, quite funny and had lots of strong accents and lots of jokes that were slighlty mature and thus some people didn’t get. And not to mention that throughout Y-14s, we discovered lots of scandals and secrets and toom a lot of photos that we deem artisitc, and Yina was like, ‘Emo-shots are the worst of cam-whoring because you are cam-whoring and yet you are thinking that it’s artisitc.’ Haha, I guess we are just like that. Oh, the secrets and scandals part, well, most of it came from Jamie and Michelle who gladly provided much wanted information and ended our long-running curiosity of relations and ‘links’, and certain other ‘little’ secrets and lots of encounters with NLK and his open admiration (which he still thinks is a secret) for the girl that everyone knows. Well, I guess this is an upside of competition season.

We were taking our dying flowers and trying to act all emotional on different steps of the staricase and what we Mich being an Art student, we looked kind of artisitc

The emo staircase shot of us

During the Earthquake ice-cream of Swensens (No offense to those poor people disturbed by the China Earthquake, I am very sympathetic, in fact, I almost cried while watching one of those emotive reporters on the news)

After the Earthquake, everything is cleaned up.

Another staircase shot of everyone

Me, getting ranked sixth and posing at Swensens at request of Crystal and others

Those staricase shots again.

Well, I guess we are all happy at whatever that has surfaced during these times, no matter whether is it late assignments that you don’t want to be bothered with since you are preoccupied with your rebuttal sheet, not talking with your friend and refusing to send that reconciling message until the end of the first competition week, having great fun in the yoga room that you didn’t even know existed before the competitions and all the very juicy gossips and the writings of your autobiography on the whiteboard and realizing that your teammates are great and that your coach and seniors are really very nice and unreasonable segregation does not occur in your CCA unlike others. So, i am, once again surprisingly happy although I am getting 50 percent of my mark docked for both of my biology assignments. The whirlwind week is tiring yet weirdly fulfilling and purposeful and have definitely added a lot of satisfaction all in all.

So, in conclusion, I like my life currently, I really do. And I desperately want to re-watch Forensic Heroes and go to the cinema for The Accuracy of Death. And shut up about the long post.

Signing off,

Jan.
